The Indianapolis Zoo is saying goodbye to winter and kicking off the new season with the fun and colorful xZOOberance spring festival.
Just in time for spring break, this year’s event begins March 23 and continues through April 16. Activities run from noon-4pm every Thursday through Sunday, offering 16 days of lively performances, spring-themed activities, living artworks and, of course, animals.
The Bicentennial Pavilion will be buzzing with energy from live entertainment on the main stage. The lineup features a mix of acts like Cathy Morris, Circle City Bucket Drummers, Kid Kazooey and more. When guests dance their way over to Café on the Commons, they can sing along to Backyard Karaoke with Uncle Frank and Aunt June. Their playlist includes a variety of family favorites including Let It Go, the Eensy Weensy Spider, Under the Sea and many more.
Our younger guests can explore the spring-centric activities that await under the Bicentennial Pavilion. Inside the Busy Bee, they can express their creativity with spring-themed crafts and make colorful enrichment items for the Zoo’s animals to enjoy. Guests can meet Polly Pollen and her sister Honey to discover the importance of pollinators. Plus, children can enjoy story time, learn the bee dance and try their hand at the pollen toss game.
Families can make memories at the beautiful Fly with the Butterflies Photo Op. Everything is set amid a vibrant landscape of oversized pinwheels, animal-shaped topiaries and larger-than-life flowers to create epic photo opportunities.
Additional activities will keep everyone hopping. Animal-inspired yoga will have guests stretching up tall like a giraffe, spreading their wings like a macaw and balancing on one leg like a flamingo. And younger guests will enjoy up-close encounters with animals, including goats and chickens!
Taste the new season, with the Zoo’s spring-themed menu. From beefy burgers to grilled brats, and Bavarian pretzels to snack packs, satisfy your hunger with a variety of options made for the perfect spring outing.
Adults can unwind and enjoy the spring weather with craft beer, wine and hand-crafted spring-themed cocktails created by Hotel Tango.
Best of all, xZOOberance is free for Zoo members and included with regular admission. Visit IndianapolisZoo.com for advance tickets and more information.
