The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art will make its debut at EXPO CHICAGO, the international contemporary art fair, taking place April 24–27 at Navy Pier. The museum’s presence at this prestigious event underscores its ongoing commitment to elevating Native contemporary artists on a global stage.

EXPO CHICAGO has been a prominent fixture in the international art scene since 2012, attracting leading galleries, museums, curators, and collectors from around the world. This year marks the Eiteljorg’s first appearance at the fair.

“We are thrilled to be part of EXPO CHICAGO, which provides an exceptional platform to share the mission of the Eiteljorg and expand the reach of our Contemporary Art Fellowship,” said Kathryn Haigh, President and CEO of the Eiteljorg Museum. “This opportunity allows us to shine a spotlight on Native artists and connect with a global network of art professionals and enthusiasts.”

At the fair, Eiteljorg representatives will host a booth featuring highlights from the museum’s collections and share details about upcoming programs, including:

  • The 33rd annual Eiteljorg Indian Market & Festival, June 28–29

  • The 20th annual Quest for the West® Art Show and Sale, September 5–6

  • The 2025 Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship, November 8, 2025–February 22, 2026

The biennial Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship, launched in 1999, supports both emerging and established Native artists through major exhibitions, acquisitions, and unrestricted grants. For 2025, five selected artists will each receive a $50,000 grant, and the museum will acquire more than $100,000 worth of their work. The 2025 exhibition, titled Emerging Current, will open with special events where the public can meet the artists and explore their work. A full-color catalog accompanying the exhibition will be published by the museum.
