Concert Review: Bret Michaels' Parti Gras Rocks Ruoff

The Parti Gras Tour, headlined by Bret Michaels, brought an electrifying night of rock and roll to Ruoff Music Center. The show featured an all-star lineup including Don Felder of the Eagles, Chris Janson, Lou Gramm of Foreigner, and Dee Snider of Twisted Sister. The night was a thrilling blend of classic rock anthems and high-energy performances that left the crowd roaring for more.

Opening the night, Don Felder set the bar high with a powerful performance that included Eagles' timeless hits “Already Gone,” “Take It Easy,” and of course “One of These Nights.” The moment the iconic guitar riff of "Life in the Fast Lane" echoed through the venue, the audience was instantly captivated. Felder's smooth vocals and impeccable guitar work transported fans back to the golden era of rock. Following up with "Hotel California” he kept the momentum going, delivering a masterclass in rock guitar that had the crowd on their feet.

Next up was country rocker Chris Janson, who brought a different flavor to the evening. His hit "Buy Me a Boat" had the audience singing along, highlighting his knack for catchy, relatable tunes. Janson's energetic stage presence and heartfelt performance added a refreshing twist to the night's rock-heavy lineup.

The main event, Bret Michaels, took the stage to thunderous applause. Opening with Poison's "Talk Dirty to Me,” Michaels immediately connected with the audience, his passionate delivery resonating deeply. He kept the energy high with “Ride the Wind” and "Unskinny Bop," both of which had the crowd dancing and singing along before bringing Jansen back onstage for a rollicking version of “Your Mama Don’t Dance.”

Lou Gramm then took the stage with the charisma and power that made him a legend with Foreigner. Kicking off with "Cold as Ice," his voice sounded as strong as ever, driving the crowd wild. The performance of "Hot Blooded" was a standout moment, with Gramm's dynamic vocals and the band's tight instrumentation reminding everyone why these songs remain rock staples.

Michaels came back on stage to perform a few more songs before introducing Dee Snider who brought his signature rebellious spirit, delivering a high-octane set that included Twisted Sister's anthem "We're Not Gonna Take It." The crowd erupted, fists in the air, singing every word in unison. Snider's surprise cover of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" was a bold and thrilling addition, his gritty vocals and commanding stage presence making it a highlight of the night.

Michaels delivered a powerful rendition of "Fallen Angel," that showcased his vocal range and emotional depth. He saved the best for last, closing the show with “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and "Nothin' but a Good Time." The entire venue was on its feet, celebrating the end of an unforgettable night with a feel-good anthem that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the Party Gras Tour.

The Parti Gras Tour was a triumphant celebration of rock and roll, with each artist bringing their unique style and hits to the stage. From Don Felder's classic rock mastery to Bret Michaels' infectious energy, the night was a rollercoaster of emotions and unforgettable moments. This concert was a testament to the enduring power of rock music and its ability to unite generations of fans for a night of pure, unadulterated joy.
